Final homes receive Occupation Certificates as Blueheath concludes
A significant milestone has been reached at Blueheath in Medowie, with the community's final homes now complete and officially receiving their Occupation Certificates.

Blueheath at Medowie has welcomed a new Village Manager, whose extensive background supporting older Australians is already making a strong impression across the growing community.
Jen Kolarik joined Blueheath in April, bringing more than seven years’ experience working within retirement living communities, alongside a career spanning special education, disability support, aged care case management and elder abuse support services.
For Jen,the move to Blueheath felt like a natural fit.
“From the very first time I drove in, there was a calm presence here,” she said.
“When you’re in the village looking out at the trees and bushland around you, it feels like a completely different part of the world tucked away in Medowie.”
Living locally in Port Stephens herself, Jen said one of the things that stood out to her was the strength of connection between residents.
“It’s already such a vibrant and caring community where residents genuinely care for each other,” she said.
“I heard one resident say recently that they’d never had so many friends in their life, andI think that really captures what Blueheath is all about.”
Jen said many residents relocate to Blueheath from outside the region, often without close family nearby, making the sense of friendship and support within the village especially important.
“That’s what makes this community so unique,” she said.
“Even for residents without family close by, people genuinely look out for one another here. It becomes its own family, in a way.”
Since commencing at Blueheath, Jen has focused on building strong daily connections with residents while supporting the wellness, lifestyle and social programs already established throughout the community.
From lawnbowls and happy hour events to art classes, gardening programs, outings and community activities, Jen said Blueheath offers residents the opportunity to remain active, social and connected while still enjoying comfort, independence and security.
“The clubhouse really is the hub of everything,” she said.
“There’s always something happening here and there’s such a welcoming atmosphere throughout the village.”
With the final homes now selling at Blueheath, Jen said new residents continue to be warmly embraced by the community almost immediately.
“We had someone recently come in just to say hello and they ended up putting down a deposit because of how welcomed they felt by residents – that really about the type of community this is,” she said.
Blueheathis in its final stages, with only a limited selection of new homes now remaining. Tucked away in The Bower, this vibrant Medowie community continues to attract residents seeking more than just a home, with connection, wellbeing and genuine community spirit continuing to define village life.
